  Handbrake crashing

  If you find yourself getting frustrated with Handbrake constantly crashing on your DVD ripping, don't worry. First, there are plenty of new DVDs that quit handbrake, so you're not alone. Second there are other solutions, I'm sure how on Linux or Windows but on the Mac it's easy.  Rip the DVD with Mac the Ripper Encode it with  VisualHub. I think their free version of iSquint will work but I've found VisualHub my favorite encoder on the Mac outside of handbrake.   I've completely neglected this site over the last week or two and I'm disappointed I completely brok my goal of posting every day. And it's not that I don't have much to post about either; I bought an iPhone, I've got a lot of tutorials for CentOS on Media Temples (dv) plan, I moved off of Trac and went with Warehouse for all my repos and there are some great projects I'm working on mostly all on Wordpress.   Installing Yum on CentOS 4

  I'm officially on mediatemple now and after getting my VPS or (dv) cleansed of plesk I noticed Yum was not installed. I'm planning on doing a full writeup after a few days but for now I'll get this tutorial on how to install Yum on CentOS 4 out of the way.   Installing SVN and Trac on Fedora Core 6 for Apache

  For some reason or another I could not find good documentation on installing Subversion and Trac on fc6 while also using Apache so I've simply just documented what I've learned and just implemented on my own system. This tutorial is about the installation of a development enviroment on FC6 it's not a how-to for using it. If you need to know more I recommend reading Version Control with Subversion (I just ordered it). Requirements You need to install these packages before we start (use yum install package-name).   Hacking the Apple TV

  Update on hacking the TV, there is an extremely easy tutorial on how to get your apple TV to do just about anything I'd ever want from a media center. One awesome step is to replace frontrow with centerstage. Centerstage is an opensource application for digital media that will play just about every video format.
