These dumb ass posts on TechCrunch really piss me off… [Link] (0)
I’d recommend reading this illogical post from Duncan at Techcrunch and then rally around Matt in the comments section.
After reading all of Duncan’s and Matt’s comments I had to throw my two-cents in,
Duncan: I don’t see your point. You mention that Matt can’t have it both ways but by writing this article and placing *your* issues into a “gray area” you’re rewarding your terms with two-ways to lean; neither for or against, making you’re actually opinion irrelevant. And isn’t this just…
Received a Pownce invite from Techcrunch’s newly purchased inviteshare.com. I’d like to say that inviteshare is not just a great idea but the design and implementation is wonderful. I received my invite to Pownce in less than 5 minutes of requesting it; I just hope the demonoid invite get fulfilled through it’s small community.
On to my early impressions of Pownce:
It’s been compared to Twitter but it’s completely missing the mobility of Twitter and the accessibility of Twitter. Without an API it’s going to…
I was going to post my opinion about the anti-Sicko Michael Moore post someone at Google posted a couple days back but now they recanted and I just read a perfect summary and report from MA at TechCrunch.
The movie, Turner said, “fails to show healthcare’s interest in patient well-being and care.†More than a few people disagree with that statement, and were immediately turned off by Turner’s comments. Particularly since there was a clear profit motive to the post -…
The controversial Google “Tipsâ€, where Google promoted certain of their own products over organic search results, have been quietly pulled down.
Until recently, Google searches for Calendar, Blogging, Photo Sharing and others returned “tips†above normal search results suggesting users try Google Calendar, Blogger and Picasa, respectively. Firefox co-founder Blake Ross criticized the change in a widely read blog post, and the rest of, the world generally piled on. Even Google’s Matt Cutts had said he’d turn them off if he could.

Google quietly added a small feature to Gmail this week called Mail Fetcher. When that feature launched, Gmail became perfect.
Techcrunch has a great article about “Media Temple launch[ing] a major new hosting service this morning called Grid Server“.
I’ve been on the grid for a while and I’m very surprised they launched it today, I had thought it was at least a few weeks off. There’s just a few little things that really bug me about the service. Before I rant about them I’m going to wade it out and see what happens with my requests and see if I get…
TechCrunch has a good review on OpenDNS which led me to try it out, even though the article weighs more on not using the service. I’ve just configured my laptop to use it via it’s wireless connection, I plan to test it out and decide later if I should change our router.
The company has two primary selling points. The first is its phishing filter, a list of malicious sites aggregated by a number of different sources that are blocked when access is…
Finally some real info on teh CL2 calendar. I hope they don’t do the sparse invite thing like they did with gmail or a matter of fact every other product they release.
Google: Please give me this awesome calendar.
