Thinking about making individual repos for client projects instead of using a master repo. All for client access and hooking into basecamp. 3 hrs ago
OpenDNS added shortcuts today. I’ve been an OpenDNS user for sometime and it’s an excellent service. I haven’t noticed any speed advantages from their caching but I’m glad that we’re safer with it blocking phishing sites, it also helps with some quick URI typos.
Setting up the shortcuts feature took 2 minutes. I just needed to setup an account and add my IP (which was already populated for me) then add a few shortcuts. Now instead of http://www.google.com/reader/view/ I can type gr or…
The Apple TV was the first out of the gate at today’s Macworld and it’s by far the most thing I’m excited about. The device is a media streaming device as well as a media player that syncs your library from another machine on it’s own hard drive, very similar to how an iPod syncs.
I’m interested in a few things: How well it will stream content on a G network since I rather get out the network cable again then…
Tammie Marson of Palm Desert, California responded to a lawsuit from the RIAA by stating that her wireless router was not secure, and that therefore the file sharing seen on her network could have been from any passerby. The defense worked, and the RIAA dropped the case.
I finally found a reason for my dyndns account. And what’s cool is all I need to do is edit my apache to a non-blocked port (by time warner) and I can have another webhost but this time at my house for dev. Also, my router will automatically updates dyndns for me.
Following my previous post I set out to get it straightened out this weekend and after hours and hours of messing with my Sipura Phone Adapter’s configuration I figured out Gizmo’s 775 service doesn’t work with hardware. I looked for hours on “one-way” calling problems with “no voice on receive” and I finally found at the bottom of 775 comparison table that 775 doesn’t work with hardware. What a mess. So now instead of having the awesome call screening and dual ringing we…
TechCrunch has a good review on OpenDNS which led me to try it out, even though the article weighs more on not using the service. I’ve just configured my laptop to use it via it’s wireless connection, I plan to test it out and decide later if I should change our router.
The company has two primary selling points. The first is its phishing filter, a list of malicious sites aggregated by a number of different sources that are blocked when access is…
…how many network routers and adapters I had until today.
I hate myspace but love the idea of it and what it has done for bands around the world. But I just get annoyed with it, so annoyed that I’ve just started blocking it from the library computers because kids come in and play around.
I hate blocking non porno sites but myspace users bug especially these kids, I don’t even know why they come in probably because they found a place that has free internet.
At the same time I’m writing…
