Thinking about making individual repos for client projects instead of using a master repo. All for client access and hooking into basecamp. 3 hrs ago
Listening to the ‘The World is Flat: Updated and Extended’ audiobook. I just started listening to audiobooks and since I already listen to a lot of podcasts I thought it wouldn’t be a problem but I’ve found I cannot listen to fiction (non-fiction is fine). Maybe it was the book but I couldn’t even listen to ‘Harry Potter’ while riding my bike a few weeks ago, it was just too hard to visualize the charactors and story while riding my…
I’ve used a couple managed voicemail providers in the last few months. My first provider was callwave which sent me my voicemails as MP3 through email and just like any voicemail added the ability to call in and hear the voicemail from your phone in a queue. A month or two ago I started using Spinvox after a hearing it briefly on a forgotten tech podcast. It provides voicemail like any other service with a call in queue but where callwave sends…
Watching some video podcasts on my AppleTV and extremely pleased with the quality of the video on my HD set. #
Since I have to post about something other than Apple I thought I’d share some of my reader trends. Hopefully it’s as interesting to you as it is to me, or helpful.
One thing I wanted to bring up with all the GTD hubub going around was how I categorizing my feeds (it’s also similar to how I manage my tasks through e-mail). I forget what podcast and who I heard used this method but I’d like to thank him since it’s…
After just a few days of using the Apple TV I’m thoroughly impressed. The major reason I purchased the Apple TV was because of all the hacking that’s been going on and with Apple practically saying, “it’s your box do what you will” we can expect some more great hacks, if running full OS X wasn’t enough. I had planned at least to install some Xvid/divX playback through a very simple hack but involves cracking the case open. Instead of jumping right…
digg.com just added a Podcasts category. Although it’s more like a directory since it actually plays the casts as well. A very interesting addition to the new digg version released today. I’m not sure about the new design but I like the new homepage.
One of Jared’s rants with iTunes and podcasting was fixed today. You can now just click on ’subscribe’ in the store without be redirected. There are a ton of other “improvments” as well. One example is the album artwork browsing and now iTunes will update your music with album art if you’d like automatically.
My musicast channel has moved to a new port. I really don’t know why it’s so darned slow though, I’ll have to track my up speed and contact Time Warner. At least you can use the RSS for a podcast channel though.
I’m testing out musicast right now so go checkout my page. It’s a cool app that I know a lot of other free apps do but I saw it on maczot today for $8 and I like it’s ease so I bought it. The page that it creates is really cool and the two playlist limit won’t be there for long, I’m just waiting for maczot to update my admin page. One reason I don’t like maczot very much.
Update: I forgot to…
I know it’s a “Tiger” theme but this webmin theme has made my use of webmin so much more productive. Webmin is a great tool for all sys admins, it’s open source and very powerful. The Linux Link Tech podcast had the inventor and head developer on their last show and even though I stopped 25 minutes in the one of the issue they brought up was the UI. And in my experience the UI was it’s only fault. Now not…
