Thinking about making individual repos for client projects instead of using a master repo. All for client access and hooking into basecamp. 3 hrs ago
I’ve been using Xtorrent for the last week and I’m so glad someone has finally made an elegant yet powerful bittorrent client for OS X. To me all bittorrent clients are the same unless you want the full capabilities of Azuras but this is so simple. So the simple thing that I don’t see other apps doing. Search. Xtorrent searches Google, yahoo and I’m not sure what other directory it searches but I’ve gotten torrents from Piratebay to Mininova. There’s also…
Not only will the Zune not play Microsoft’s own DRM it wont be mac compatible. At least it comes in brown.
[I had a longer post but a zune site that I loaded crashed firefox (1.5)]
The upgrade path offered by the Mac Pro is particularly interesting, not because Macs weren’t upgradable in the past (since they were) but because upgrades have never been so readily available. And based on our initial testing, it’s looking like you’ll be able to drop in a pair of Clovertowns and make the move from four to eight cores in the Mac Pro by the year’s end. The combination of excellent OS X performance, good Windows XP performance and a…
I should have posted earlier on this but here are my predictions:
iTunes 7
10.4.8 with a new H.264 playback performance
Movie Downloads. Disney, Pixar and MGM at first.
Airport Express with video support. It wont be HD but s-video would be nice.
New iPods. I’d love a 16×9 but they could just be size upgrades and new casings. I wouldn’t expect any touchscreen functionality. Either way if the new iPod comes out I’m going to get it with an uncomfortable return to Costco :).
What…
I really hate the idea of it but when you do something like this it’s just too easy. Maybe I’ll do it in CSS because I “really hate” slices, not only because they’re bad but just so annoying for loading and clicking. I really need to do something about the sc.info site, it’s just too much said and so poorly written.
sidenote: Photoshop on my mac pro is comparable to my old g4 powerbook; hardly noticeable that it’s being emulated.

Looks like I should have upgraded the ram in the Apple store after all. Or maybe not since it was still too much.
First and foremost, this build offers full compatibility with Mac Pro towers, finally. Second, we’ve added support for the developer builds of OS X Leopard. Third, you can now run Windows Vista Beta as a guest OS!
“Wired columnist Bruce Schneier has an article up called ‘Quickest Patch Ever’, about a patch that was issued within three days to fix a vulnerability in Windows Digital Rights Management (DRM).” From the article: “Now, this isn’t a ‘vulnerability’ in the normal sense of the word: digital rights management is not a feature that users want. Being able to remove copy protection is a good thing for some users, and completely irrelevant for everyone else. No user is ever going…
The Core 2 Duos have hit the new iMacs. Shouldn’t be too long before the macbooks get the hit too. I’d speculate the minis won’t see the upgrade for a while, especially the entry level model, since they should be a little less if they want to compete with Dell.
The 24″ iMac is looks pretty sweet but a little pricey compared to a Mac Pro (entry-level) and a dell monitor.
For some reason you need to uncomment your mod_rewrite module in apache’s config file in order for apache to start through XAMPP.
XAMPP on IntelMac Instructions:
1. download and install XAMPP for MAC (ppc).
2. open /Applications/xampp/etc/httpd.conf
