Having an IM conversation with someone in Iran, turns out they "hate" Bush...so random. But I had to reply, "that's why I voted for Obama" 6 hrs ago
Ventura according to my parents had power outages around the town but our place had no power for over 24 hours and it was horrible. It was weird to not have any internet, TV or any lights on Saturday night and we took advantage of it by going to bed early; something we both needed after the rag’r at Roger’s house on Cinco and the full day of Avery’s first B-Day, which was a blast and a huge success.
Sunday morning…
By a 34-22 vote, members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee rejected a Democratic-backed Net neutrality amendment that also enjoyed support from Internet and software companies including Microsoft, Amazon.com and Google.
I’ve been getting e-mails about gas boycotts and it makes me wonder if there is another solution. First I would like to say a one day boycott will never work. First the people effecting the gas prices are extremely rich oil companies and by denting one huge company won’t nesicarily effect another. Second the dent will never last if the people just go back the next day, the boycott should be about boycotting gas not pushing off the purchase of…
Seeing how expensive housing is in Ventura it’s pretty depressing but Zillow at least makes it interesting, easy and tries to make it fun.
A great column on all the shortcomings of Vista. Here are a few:
I[n] some ways, Windows Vista actually will exceed Mac OS X and Linux, but not to the depth we were promised. Instead, Windows Vista will do what so many other Windows releases have done, and simply offer consumers and business users a few major changes and many subtle or minor updates. That’s not horrible. It’s just not what was promised.
I get home and pull up in front of my house. 5 cop cars come roaring towards me in the opposite lane that I was parked in. Three turn to go behind my house, 2 stop in front they all jump up and head for the front of my house. WTH? One guy talks to them probably saying your at the wrong house because after that they turn around to go to the back. I then go into the house…
Not getting a 360 on launch day has really changed my outlook on what I buy. I now ask myself is it worth it?, is it out of impulse? and will I really use it?. The 360 is a prime example of something extremely cool that I wanted for a long time but in not getting it I had the ability to step back and reassess the purchase. I noticed that I don’t even play video games anymore. And when…
Even though Sara already posted about it and I’ve had a conversation on Jared’s blog about it I need to give my two cents.
The downstairs bathroom:
Harder then planned. I thought I could just rip the cabinets out and put the new stuff in. But to my surprise you might want to look at the plumbing before you buy pre-made cabinets; logically you would think every house builder would put the drain piping on the back wall and not to the side where…
Pulled from this months Wired and a continuation on this post.
A very interesting article.

An extension of this converstation, I thought it needed it’s own space.
Nathan commented about how…well you might as well just read it.
<blockquote>there’s no point. you buy a house, pay into your mortgage, your family grows, you buy another house, and what you get from the first makes a nice down payment on the second. your mortgage stays the same, but now you’re in it for another 30 years. but in less time than that, your kids are gone and you don’t need…
