Thinking about making individual repos for client projects instead of using a master repo. All for client access and hooking into basecamp. 4 hrs ago
Played around with iMovie and iDVD’s new magic features today and I have to say there has to be some real magic behind it. I made an Avery 2005 DVD today in just a couple hours with some great menus and effects in a couple hours. I love how I can make a really great DVD with a couple clicks and drags rather then messing with layers, effects, handeling, angles and preview rendering like I had to in the past with…
I received CyberLink’s Powerdirector last week to review here and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that is a great alternative for consumer editing on the PC. If you’re on a Mac you might as well skip this review and start reading a past review on iMovie. I would have liked to compare it to Adobe’s Premiere Elements which I highly recommend the pro version for all the pro-sumers. But instead I will have to compare PowerDirector to Premiere Elements which I…
Did I just overlook the DVD hike or did it just happen over the holidays. I just noticed new DVDs are selling for $19.99, inflation my ass. If they are going to charge that much for a DVD it might as well come out the same day as the theatrical release; like some studios are considering or planning. It just doesn’t make any sense to me to even have the gap since studios are making well more money on DVD…
Not getting a 360 on launch day has really changed my outlook on what I buy. I now ask myself is it worth it?, is it out of impulse? and will I really use it?. The 360 is a prime example of something extremely cool that I wanted for a long time but in not getting it I had the ability to step back and reassess the purchase. I noticed that I don’t even play video games anymore. And when…
Even though Sara already posted about it and I’ve had a conversation on Jared’s blog about it I need to give my two cents.
The downstairs bathroom:
Harder then planned. I thought I could just rip the cabinets out and put the new stuff in. But to my surprise you might want to look at the plumbing before you buy pre-made cabinets; logically you would think every house builder would put the drain piping on the back wall and not to the side where…
Bought this Logitech Remote last night to replace all of our working remotes and our recently broken stereo remote. Hopefully the button layout won’t be too hard and we won’t hate it.
I can’t wait, finally one multifunction remote that will (hopefully) work for everything, Stereo, TV, Cable, Media Streaming box/DVD player and maybe the 360.
Last week, there were many rumors floating…regarding a certain patent belonging to Sony, which, if adopted, would have linked…individual copies of software with the hardware.
This caused a lot of gamers to loose it because of the future PS3 but a spokesperson for Sony recently said,
“this is false speculation…on any PlayStation 3″
BUT, does this still mean there will be similar DRM protection for future blue-ray discs and hardware. I couldn’t imagine not being able to rent a DVD or even borrowing…
I wanted to take this conversation into comparing Apple laptops and PC laptops. And the reason why not to buy a PC laptop.
Jared asks this question:
So you don’t have anything against Dells specifically, just all non-Apple laptops?
To be honest, yes, most PC laptops I’ve seen are not designed well. Their too big, bulky, and lack default hardware features that can only be upgraded later for an additional charge; screens and Bluetooth to name a couple. Yes, dell and other manufacturers have…

Why did they have to bring Lost into this?
Good thing I sold my 40 GB yesterday on eBay without a loss. Oh wait, I forget, I don’t need it or do I. 60 gigs, a smaller iPod, with Video support is awfully tempting. Only if the rumors were right about importing DVDs into iTunes 6, and if iTunes converted other formats, that may be the kicker for me. But I wonder about the quality of video out.
I speculate a video…
