Having an IM conversation with someone in Iran, turns out they "hate" Bush...so random. But I had to reply, "that's why I voted for Obama" 7 hrs ago
Microsoft’s Xbox Live Video: HDTV and HD movie downloads for your 360 - Engadget
The service is called Xbox Live Video, and the fall update enables customers to spend their Microsoft points on standard and HD television from CBS, MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, Turner, and UFC, as well as HD movies from Warner Bros., Paramount, and so on. We’re still a little in shock, ourselves, that Microsoft was able to in one fell swoop hit TiVo, Apple, Netflix, and a handful…
…over 1000 hours of video will make its way onto Live for rental at about $4 a go, or for purchase (at an unstated price). Hard to imagine Xbox 360 doing for PC-free online movie downloads what all the other companies couldn’t or haven’t (we’re looking at you TiVo, Netflix, iTV, etc.), but then again Microsoft did start up with that Xbox Live music video download thing last year. Seriously though, what a coup would that be if Microsoft swooped…
I just can’t figure out what to do. Either return the 360 and get the Wii (if I can) or just keep the 360. I just made a spreadsheet for cost comparison, I guess I need to do a matrix for pros and cons now.
My hope is the Wii will make us want to play games again, I’d think Sara would love it. There’s a web browser so we could watch youtube on TV and it’s a little cheaper then…
The new iPod video formatting is extremely hard to follow and hopefully this review will help. I created it because I just wanted to put the highest quality video on my 5g video iPod for playback on a TV.
DVD Ripping
The first hurdle was finding the app that would rip my DVDs to H.264. I used Instant Handbrake (with the unofficial icons of course) in the past, but as you might know it rips the DVDs in the old file size of…
To follow up with my previous post, I’m surprised at how close I was.
They announced iTunes 7 with movies
They announced the new Nano’s with new casing and sizes
They announced new iPods with a new size increase
They did release an update to Quicktime but nothing substantial like I mentioned
And what I wanted to see was a Media Extender and they pre-announced it. The thing looks awesome and I would consider it if it did xvid and divx streaming, which I doubt.…
I should have posted earlier on this but here are my predictions:
iTunes 7
10.4.8 with a new H.264 playback performance
Movie Downloads. Disney, Pixar and MGM at first.
Airport Express with video support. It wont be HD but s-video would be nice.
New iPods. I’d love a 16×9 but they could just be size upgrades and new casings. I wouldn’t expect any touchscreen functionality. Either way if the new iPod comes out I’m going to get it with an uncomfortable return to Costco :).
What…
My current theme was just bundled up as iScattered with the ads taken out of course.
I just packaged up my old theme. With all the requested features that I had before.
Features:
The theme can be downloaded here.
Although the theme will work fine without these supported plugins it might be best if you download and install them. All you need to do is upload them and activate so go get ‘em.
For some reason you need to uncomment your mod_rewrite module in apache’s config file in order for apache to start through XAMPP.
XAMPP on IntelMac Instructions:
1. download and install XAMPP for MAC (ppc).
2. open /Applications/xampp/etc/httpd.conf
3. insert a # in front of LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so
4. Save the File
5. Start XAMPP
FairUse4WM + Yahoo! Unlimited = the perfect music store.
I’ve opened an account to ‘test’ this and it works perfect. And having an unlimited monthly music subscription with no DRM just right for me. And I think this is going to be the only way for the P2P generation to start paying for music. I just wish the RIAA would wake up.
I’d also like to say The Yahoo! store (application) is awesome not better then the iTunes store but the best feature is…
Since BG has been talked about as much as Lost I decided to dive in and download “The Story so Far” on my 360. It’s an hour recap of the first two seasons and as a non-viewer of the show I think I could comfortably watch season 3 without an issue. However according to the Battlestar Galactica wiki “The Story So Far” left out a lot but what do you expect when you roll 37 episodes into one. It’s just really unlikely…
