Thinking about making individual repos for client projects instead of using a master repo. All for client access and hooking into basecamp. 2 hrs ago
Managing the Video and Audio at the Soliton Sessions reminds me I need to get back into the groove of producing again. There’s nothing worse than a few audio/video hiccups during a live event. More importantly I shouldn’t take anything for granted and assume it works. ALWAYS do a complete run through front to end. If that’s not possible than be prepared for the worst. God I miss Tim and the Bridge for teaching me all of this and keeping…
This has got to be the best review/article on the age old debate of Linux vs. Mac. The article is extensive but the conclusions on the topic mimic my sentiments exactly.
In the following pages, they lead a guided tour of the two OSes, paying particular attention to eight important areas: Installation & Migration; Hardware Support & Power Management; Networking, Web & Wireless; Productivity; Entertainment; Security; Working With Windows (because we couldn’t completely ignore Microsoft); and Stability, Backup & Disaster Recovery.
Which is the…
I’ve used a couple managed voicemail providers in the last few months. My first provider was callwave which sent me my voicemails as MP3 through email and just like any voicemail added the ability to call in and hear the voicemail from your phone in a queue. A month or two ago I started using Spinvox after a hearing it briefly on a forgotten tech podcast. It provides voicemail like any other service with a call in queue but where callwave sends…
So I bought the new iPod, I’ve had it a week and it’s pretty cool. Honestly there’s no difference except
the very noticeable screen brightness which helps at work. The search feature is awesome, but until I actually find myself using it it’s just another feature not to get excepted about. Oh, the headphones are great. I’m not too big on audio but they sound okay and most importantly they don’t hurt my ears.
All in all it’s a better iPod but…
I’m listening to the Geek night’s podcast Jared talks about so much. Just to prove that his assessment’s from others might not be the best practice to determine your own mac opinion unless your purpose is not like them in the first place, which I’m afraid Jared wants.
Jay and Jack go off with the hotline and then crack into the website. They also have the full audio of the hotline.
Here is the MP3 File for the podcast, if you don’t want to listen to the show just skip to the end where they talk about the website and the hotline and they go through it step by step.
Check out our blog at UnderWaterHatch.com for more info.
With my two recent posts on iMovie, iDVD and iPhoto I couldn’t leave out Garageband and iWeb. iWeb is pretty cool as far as I could see and if I need to make a simple static site I would probably go there first. It won’t help with eBay like I hopped for Sara but it will if she wants to make a site for Avery.
Garageband, I don’t know. I do know the newest version seems centralized around podcasting but I…
I received CyberLink’s Powerdirector last week to review here and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that is a great alternative for consumer editing on the PC. If you’re on a Mac you might as well skip this review and start reading a past review on iMovie. I would have liked to compare it to Adobe’s Premiere Elements which I highly recommend the pro version for all the pro-sumers. But instead I will have to compare PowerDirector to Premiere Elements which I…
Odeo Blog: Podcast Amongst Yourselves
Today we’re launching a new version of Odeo with several big changes. The most notable is that everyone can now record audio with the browser-based Odeo Studio - or via the phone. Either way, your voice gets posted as an MP3 on an Odeo page, and from there you can easily share it or edit the title, etc.
Jared might remember but this very simiar to an idea I had a while back.
That aside, I wonder if…
