Having an IM conversation with someone in Iran, turns out they "hate" Bush...so random. But I had to reply, "that's why I voted for Obama" 5 hrs ago
I’m just so swamped at work, so much that I can barely keep up with the few personal emails that I have on breaks because the day whizzes by so fast. Then my feeds go untouched and there’s just so much to read. Don’t get me wrong though I’m loving my new job. The days go fast for a reason, ’cause I love the work, it’s like staying up until 3am on a Friday night and not knowing where the…
Just released Search Everything 2. It includes an admin panel for configuring and includes more search options.
Many thanks to Cori Schlegel because this new version is really just a mod of his own Search All plugin which is a mod of my original Search Everything plugin.
Configuring those new computers were a snap.
I setup an account on each with “limited” access a default in Windows XP. Not the best solution but more then adequate for the Library folk. I then used TweakUI to autologin to those accounts, so on a reset or a poweron the accounts would automatically start. Nothing worse then a person going what account should I use when one is called “admin” and the other is “GUEST-INTERNET”.
The applications that I’ve used are all Free:
Anti-Virus-
It’s been crazy. Work hasn’t let up. So I couldn’t post anything meaningful until now, which I will waste with this one. And I guess the Gadget week will be postponed which I regret because the best is yet to come.
With that said today I submitted an estimate for a website, referenced in this post. I plan to use Wordpress 2 if I can’t find anything better for a CMS. The issues I plan to encounter that I think I can…
I wonder if AK is still going to do his theme compitition?
I just noticed this one, if you want to show off your skills.
I wonder if I could modify this theme or that squible theme enough to work. This theme would have major problems since K2 uses functions selected from the admin panel. Maybe I can preset everything in the functions.php instead, I’ll have to look.
I hate myspace but love the idea of it and what it has done for bands around the world. But I just get annoyed with it, so annoyed that I’ve just started blocking it from the library computers because kids come in and play around.
I hate blocking non porno sites but myspace users bug especially these kids, I don’t even know why they come in probably because they found a place that has free internet.
At the same time I’m writing…
Bush Administration to Sony: It’s your intellectual property — it’s not your computer.
Sony knew they were dead in the water when the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) admonished them on the CD rootkit scandal - at a Chamber of Commerce event on combating intellectual-property theft. According to Briand Krebs of the Washington Post the Department of Homeland Security’s assistant secretary for policy, Stewart Baker, made at the event “a remark clearly aimed directly at Sony and other labels”

Time to move and get out of this mess. Things are running so poorly right now that I don’t even know if it’s the box, my admin’ing or 1and1 bandwith. I’m just fed up.
So I am moving to a shared hosting provider called Media Temple.
This only means that your sites will be down; Sara, Jason, Jared, theB and Stryker; for a little while next week, or should I do it over the weekend? All I need to do is move…
Google Reader was just released today and I am thoroughly disappointed. I thought the developers would release something similar to feedlounge, something easy to use while giving great functionality. Google reader does neither.
The bad:
The UI is horrible; the “lens” feature is…um…cheesy looking.
The labels are a cool feature but they’re on what looks like the subscription admin panel.
They need to adopt a three column view. Maybe a greasemonky script would help.
The good:
Like Feedlounge it is online.
Way faster then feedlounge.
Gmail integration.
Podcast support. It…
Neato just keeps cranking new versions out every week. This time she included an ajax feature that links out tags to technorati, flickr, wikipedia, and del.icio.us. What a cool feature.
Another feature registered users will notice right away is the ability to add tags or delete tags. I might take the ability of deleting tags out, not saying I don’t trust you, I just don’t like the idea.
Hopefully she will create an update page where the admin can see recently added or…
