What am I doing? part deux

Bridgeblogs.com needs to be redone. I am waiting for some graphics from Joel and until I get them Bridgeblogs.com will just be what it is for now. What do you guys want out of that site?
I also need to update my site, what I want to do is get rid of my wordpress blog and transfer all those posts to pages on this blog. Anyone know how to redirect a url to a new one, even if the url doesn’t exist anymore and the url isn’t to a directory (example ‘http://scatteredthoughts.us/wordpress/index.php?p=3′). Could I do it in my .htaccess file? I would hate to loose all the traffic from those tutorials.

  • you can specify a custom 404 page in your .htaccess file
  • I think the main thing for BBlogs is promoting it; letting people know it's there and that they can post (even if they do have to register first, which is probably a good idea)

Stryker, good idea. Now I just have to figure out how to do that 404 page to be accessed instead of that dumb ass 1and1 page. where do I add that.

About BBlogs: I know you are a blogspot user but you are aware of spam, right? Anyways, with WP you have to be a registered user to post, but I would like to open up everything. Including links and I think I might just include a bunch of themes for users to decide what theme they want.

    Sara: I figured as much.
  • I do not know how to do any of that! Sorry!
  • create a custom 404 page that uses referer information to redirect people to the specific page they were looking for.

as far as bridge blogs, do you still have to be an authenticated user to post? it would be create to just open them up to anyone.
