The Departed

The Departed was a wonderful movie. One of the most noticeable; you knew what was happening the entire time, very few movies now-a-days do that, they always have the twist or the great reveal. This movie let you connect with the characters without having to question who they were or analyze their actions. The acting was superb and I’d be surprised if it doesn’t get a ton of nominations for some little golden statues, including two for best movie and best director. Marky mark was fantastic, the writing for his character was awesome. With a movie so low it gave plenty of smirks and laughs. One thing I didn’t like was the ending, it’s as if they just phoned it in. Without saying to much, I do not mind endings like this but I felt the previous 2 hours and 15 minutes were lost.

Yeah, WTF was up with that letter? Was it just because or did she look at it [spoiler] just before the funeral that's why she was so pissed at Jack.
  • I personally thought the movie was freaking amazing. Every actor held their part and I must say that DiCaprio and Jack were great. I wasn't too thrilled with the ending though. What happened to the envelope that she was suppose to hold for him if anything happened to him?
  • Yeah, plus the cast will draw a lot of people too. I'll see almost anything with Jack Nicholson (unless it's a romantic comedy like that one he did a while back), and most movies Matt Damon is in are usually pretty good too.

I thought the same thing, that it seemed to come out fast. But they my have not needed to arket it too much because it's one of those movies that's great. A similar movie might be Crash, I never heard about it until the reviews came out. Maybe that's the new marketing for great movies, let the reviews market it and networking do the same rather then shoving it down people's throat.
  • Yeah, I really wanted to see this one from the first time I saw the previews. I didn't know it was going to be out this soon, but maybe I just heard about it late.
