My standpoint is, go for it. They are going through so much right now it doesn't matter if they steal a toy car, like the kid in the video, but it does matter when they are taking guns. And let the insurance companies straighten it out after or even better our tax dollars. That wasn't sarcastic, I think our tax dollors should be going to them and not some fuck fest over in iraq.

If I remember correctly, I think that these people are taking the permission thing out of context. The initial remark the authorities made about not wanting to go after looters was partially because they were too busy trying to save people's lives to worry about some store getting stuff taken from it, and secondly because there is going to be some justified taking of food, water, etc. if it is unavailable anywhere else. That's not what the people in this video were doing, but you can't exactly have a "zero-tolerance" stance on stuff like this if people have no access to clean water and food.
