I find it very odd that Katrina and her destruction, even before the consequences were known, was covered as extensively as it was. Yet I can’t recall having seen a single mention of the Baghdad stampede.
I am frustrated that the rescue operations were stopped because a chopper was shot at once. Give them gunship protection; hell give each chopper and man with a fucking gun! Instead they called off the rescue operations to go and search for the people with guns? Are you nuts?! Get those people out of there! You have the largest military in the world; you can run two wars half-way around the world at the same time, how hard can it be?!
I am enraged that the US government spent so much money on going to war for false reasons, that they had to cut money for such trivial things as flood protection…Who cares about longterm effects, a quick war never killed anyone in the government. Let’s not actually look at the problems in all their real-world complexity. Complexity never got anyone reelected after all.
A lot of interesting comments from the Binary and a lot of mess. But it is always good to here of someones opinion outside of the US.
