Happy New Years

I will post on it later but it took me a day or so. Right when K2 B2 came out I started working on it and I think I have my best theme yet.

I think it really encompasses what everyone wants including myself. It has asides but doesn’t hide them. It has limited posts on the homepage without hiding the previous entries. Same amount of info but not cluttered.

When I say cluttered, I mean that everything is distinct I still need to toy around with the the css of some places, specifically the asides portion because it seems…I don’t know.
There isn’t any new functionality, there’s actually less. No AJAX anything as of yet. I don’t know if it’s K2s fault or what but I don’t really care right now anyways, it doesn’t help anything except make it look cool. I’m still having issues with the archives, maybe that’s a host issue, probably not but I can’t think of anything else.

I do want to see a style switcher for K2 soon, it would be nice to give the option to reverse the color scheme for those people who don’t like the dark colors.

Anyways, I hope you like and if you find some bugs tell me.

Oh and I might release that last theme so don’t ask.

  • I guess the Ajax commenting works now. It's so slow though.
  • You are right, I shouldn't care about IE users.

That reminds me, I need to include that get firefox logo for IE users.

and just so you know, position:fixed doesn't work in ie, but the entire right column displays under the main section anyways, so it at least breaks somewhat gracefully. not that you do/should care about ie users.
  • Eli- for the longtail use the < ?php UTW_ShowWeightedTagSet('weightedlongtailvertical','',25) ?> function. It's pretty buried in the UTW documentation.

For the comment form I made it a separate php include after the sidebar and gave it a fixed div.
  • Curious of how Google would translate that I tested it. And it sounds like you just cussed yourself out.

    I pleasure to me

    Dan-

Can you explain quickly how you got the items (tag tail, etc) displaying at the bottom of the home page?

Also, how did you get the 'Leave a Reply' box in one fixed location?

    Thanks!

Dan- I love this redesign! Keep up the great work!
  • Simply beautiful Dan wow great job man. i like it alot.
  • I noticed that too. It was one of the low priority things to look at and I never got to it.

It is a K2 bug and I'm sure I could fix it if I just looked but until then.

    I like it, very colorful!
  • Looks good.

One thing that I did just notice is that the boxes for name, email and url still appear over the comment boxes, even when you're logged in (like I am now), whereas most themes will hide these for logged in users. It still works fine if I don't fill them in, but it does look kind of odd to see them there.
