If you find yourself getting frustrated with Handbrake constantly crashing on your DVD ripping, don’t worry. First, there are plenty of new DVDs that quit handbrake, so you’re not alone. Second there are other solutions, I’m sure how on Linux or Windows but on the Mac it’s easy.

Rip the DVD with Mac the Ripper
Encode it with VisualHub. I think their free version of iSquint will work but I’ve found VisualHub my favorite encoder on the Mac outside of handbrake.

I think iSquint only converts to iPod format (as opposed to, say, Apple TV or .avi).

Download the major DNC speeches
Not sure why Winer didn't notice that iTunes has all the major DNC speeches and all the RNC speeches shortly after.It's under the podcast section.
