I created a “Grassy Backyard ” flickr set for the details.
The short story,
I had planned out this project for a while thinking it would take three weeks. One week of demolish, One week of finishing up and one for the install. Turns out it only took one and a half days.
Saturday I started early demolishing and was finished before 10am. 10am to 2pm we had all the finishing touches done in order to install the sprinkler. 2pm to about 5 I just cleaned up everything.
Sunday morning, Sara Avery woke me up early after a full night of poker and I noticed the sprinkler worked giving the the option to install the sod. I went to green thumb and Rent-it to bring the sod home. I installed it fairly easily.
now we just have to keep it soaked and make sure Avery doesn’t mess with it too much.
All done. Wow that wasn’t too bad at all [my mind]. I hurt [my body]. Let’s play and have a BBQ [Avery].
$60 for a dumpster
$25 for cement and sprinkler supplies
$115 for the sod and truck
= Priceless laughs from Avery
[appended] I forgot to say that I’m not completely finished either. I still have to do some minor cement work since I ran out and we have to coat the fence with paint/seal. I’ll probably get that done next weekend.
