Disappointed Revolution2 went the traditional route of selling "premium" themes-shame. I thought their model of selling support was awesome. 6 hrs ago
Following my previous post I set out to get it straightened out this weekend and after hours and hours of messing with my Sipura Phone Adapter’s configuration I figured out Gizmo’s 775 service doesn’t work with hardware. I looked for hours on “one-way” calling problems with “no voice on receive” and I finally found at the bottom of 775 comparison table that 775 doesn’t work with hardware. What a mess. So now instead of having the awesome call screening and dual ringing we have to go with just a standard line.
The standard line still has a lot of great features like SMS and voicemail e-mails so I’m okay with it. A workaround I found out was buy a 775 under a different SIP account and have it forward to the call-in number, you’d just have two accounts and pay $7 a month instead of $3. I doubt I’ll go this route but it’s an option since we do have a few days to decide. I just rather get my asterisk box up and do all the additional features through that.
So to get more technical, I didn’t need to setup my asterisk box all I had to do was configure the Sipura, which turned out to be very easy.
Step 1. Configure your router to give the SPA a static IP.
Step 2. Open all the necessary ports or do what I did and create a DMZ.
Step 3. Configure the SPA with these few settings.
Note that the only place I found my SIP number was from sipphone.com, both gizmo and sipphone.com are tied together.
