DVR owners spend 48% more time on media

DVR owners spend 48% more time on newspapers and 40% on the Internet > Television > IT Facts
DVR owners are bigger users of media, spending 22% more time with media than the average person. However, as MediaPost noted, it’s not the television they are mostly enamored with. They spend 48% more time with newspapers, 43% more time with magazines and 40% more time with the Internet than the average consumer. They watch TV only 17% more than the average TV viewer.

40% more time, 43 % more time, 40% more time, 17% more time, but then only 22% overall. I’m figuring the non DVR owners win in the talk radio category. Oh wait, I bet TV watching is such a large chunk of time that it pulls the other percentages down. When do they sleep?

I wonder if they counted hours of actually watching TV or the shows themselves. Because I already watch 33% more TV then the average viewer because I do not watch commercials. a 30 minute show is actually 22 minutes of programing.

Nate: Good to hear from you. I think the reason why the averages don’t seem right is because most of these people do more then one thing at a time. I watch a lot of TV but 80% of the time I spend on my laptop or reading. There are only a couple shows I commit my full attention to; Lost is one.
