I never liked any zombie movies until now, especially serious zombie movies. The only non-comedic zombie I would rate higher than a three is 28 days later but that’s only because its more of a horror movie than a zombie flick.

The other two zombie movies I enjoyed Shaun of the Dead and the Evil Dead, both totally different, were good/great. ( Of course, I haven’t seen Evil Dead since I was a kid and even then I think I saw the sequels first, either way I thought they were cool. I digress. )

Zombieland had the feel of a video game: it setup the characters well, it had a focused plot and it was short. The most important piece that made me relate it to a video game, all the zombie killing humor.

I’ve used MX Revolutions for what seems like ages now and I still haven’t found a better mouse. The Magic Mouse with Magic Preferences makes it very close. After my Magic Mouse review, which I’m still committing a few more weeks to, I may just go back to the classic revolution mouse.

My only complaint is the charging. I tend to always forget to charge it every night and having it stop working in the middle of the day is awful. This really shouldn’t happen with battery technology these days, I should be able to let it go for a week before I’m forced to recharge the thing. This isn’t a new occurance, these mice had the issue from day one.

Yes, I did say ‘mice’. I bought an extra for my office a while back and now I have two. But with the battery issue its good to be able to switch off instead of having a forced break from work.

Maybe Logitech will bring this model back instead of trying to pass the Performance Mouse as the next generation.

[This review was also posted over at gdgt.]

There are some of the greatest comedians in this movie and because the movie’s plot allows for real actors to portray themselves ( stand-up, ect. ) its perfect to cram them in without being distracting or messy.

If you’ve seen a preview you know Sandler is terminally ill and you can guess he starts soul searching and finds a girl; well, don’t get disappointed there’s definitely more to it and without spoiling anything I loved how it unfolded.

Even if you don’t like Sandler’s style of comedy, I can’t stand the voice bits, there was a lot of laugh-out-loud moments and I’d recommend this movie to anyone that can laugh sit through a dick joke.

The premise of the movie is simple: everyone uses a robot to live out their daily life. I have mixed feelings about this movie; I really liked the plot but I couldn’t enjoy the story the movie presented.

The robotic acting was a little overboard at times, it seemed like the actors just didn’t know how to express at certain times and actions and reactions were not consistent. This ended up being distracting and contributed to me not liking the movie as much as I’d would have liked.

After watching this movie, my non-stop work habits and lack of getting out of the house some days made me think of how computers are our surrogates right now. I’t only a matter of time before this type of thing comes true, even if its more like the halodex in Caprica.

Overall, I did rate it pretty high because I’d still recommend it as a rental — if you like sci-fi and nothing else is available.

I have a ton of theories, all of which I may never post about but the season premiere for the last season of Lost was great.

Oh all right. My main “theory” is, although it is pretty obvious and the most reasonable, the bomb did prevent “the incident” from happening and Daniel Fariday’s theory of a cataclysmic event altering space time allowed for an alternate timeline.

The people we see on the plane and land in LAX are of the new alternate timeline caused by the bomb, the bomb prevented Dharma from building the hatch that allowed for the original plane crash ( or the bomb prevented Dharma to exist after that ).

The characters on the island are of the original timeline and thrown into the time where they belong, before they started time traveling/skipping in the first place.

Now that I wrote LAX, the show’s title was call “LA X”. Take note of the space that singles out the ‘X’, which makes me believe the theory above is correct since we’re crossing over two timelines NOT staying on one timeline with a non-existant but determined future possible by the future actions of the characters in the past. Ha ha, that’s Jared’s theory, I know its crazy huh?

I’m looking forward to the entire season, it should be a good one. Especially with the possibility of chaining two alternate timelines together somehow.

I had some really different expectations for The Invention of Lying, not only did I expect for it to be a bombardment of laughs ( it wasn’t ), I didn’t expect for it to be thought provoking.

I’m a big fan of Gervais, a recent fan because I’m loving the The Ricky Gervais Guide to… series in audiobook. And since I’m a fan, I thought the movie would have exploited the concept/plot a little more and made Mark go wild that take advantage of the situation. Instead, the taking advantage part was short lived, well that’s not entirely true he just didn’t take advantage of people. I was expecting, like from any other hilarious movie, for Gervais to explore and live out his imagionation.

The exploring was replaced by a boiler plate love story, with the same arch as every more: man loves girl, girl steadily falls in love with man, man makes a mistake, women goes in different direction, then the make up squishy part.

So the idea of being the first person to ever lie was a great story and they put a lot of thought into it. The idea of a world that has never lied made me think a lot. One idea, how honesty is being replaced with passive lying; basically, how not being honest is lying to each other.

Overall, it’s a good renter and I enjoyed it, nothing overly meaningful just a semi funny movie with a love story.

I’ve had my Logitech Squeezebox Radio for a few weeks now and I completely love the thing, it makes listening so much easier.

The functionality of the system is great. Right now I have a few Pandora channels preset so I can just walk up to it and with one touch start listening to some tunes. I also have presets for some albums that are streamed from my music library on my MacPro.

The integration with iTunes and the mac is so-so, it looks at your iTunes xml file and picks up all the playlists and info but it’s only one-way, I’d love to see play count and skip count get updated in iTunes for my smart playlists. Another very minor thing, the preference pane and runs in 32 bit mode so when you want to force a library refresh ( instead of waiting ) you need to restart system preferences in order for it to work; it’s not a real issue, it’s just an annoyance.

There’s a ton a cool functionality. The facebook integration is sort of lame, it posts an update with a song your listening to, the con is the update looks like an ad for the Radio. The flickr integration is really cool, since I could use the screen as a picture viewer while using it for music. There’s a few other apps that are available, like slacker or last.fm but I don’t use them. I really like having Sirious Radio available but their subscription is way too expensive to keep after the trial. I can’t wait for MOG integration, I really like that service and it could replace Pandora as my default music discovery app.

From the reviews I read before I purchased it the sound quality is good but I would review it as okay. The reason being, I rather use the line out into my speaker system in order to get more bass and dual speaker stereo. Maybe I’ll change my mind when the battery accessory comes out and I’ll use it more around the house.

There are some cons but they’re few and far between to even go over, except for one. The big round button on the front, you would think that could be used for volume, well it’s not, there’s a little nob for the volume instead. Maybe a future update will allow for it to be programmed as a volume knob.

The Radio is highly recommended if you listen to a lot of music during work or around the house and you want a toy to help your enjoyment. Even if you could just use iTunes or the Pandora widget on your desktop, having the hardware dedicated and ready for use is a relief to have.
