YouTube and Wordpress

Just so everyone knows, if you want to embed YouTube in a Wordpress 2 post the best way to do it is to just use the wordpress bookmarklet. Since the bookmarklet doesn’t use the WYSIWYG editor it doesn’t screw everything up. You could always use some plugin but why not just use the bookmarklet, it’s faster and easier.

Yeah, or use Viper's Video Quicktags 3.0. Works with the rich editor and it's a simple plugin. It also can embed YouTube, Google Video, IFILM, QuickTime, AVI, MPEG, WMV and FLV (Flash video) files with that cool YouTube-like flash player.

With the new release of WP it breaks the old marklet so you don't have to worry about that. But in order to get youtube to work just turn off the 'rich text editor' on the users page.
  • I cannot figure it out yet. I am a novie and do not know what a bookmarklet is. Kindly help.
