WordPress 2.0.6

It’s been out for a few days so you should feel really bad if you haven’t updated yet. I just did what seemed like a hundred WP installs on my server so don’t give me any grief.

About the Author, Dan Cameron:

I'm the owner and solution engineer at Sprout Venture, a web solutions company that specializes in web development including WordPress.

I started my first blog in 2003 and transitioned to WordPress in 2004. Since moving to WordPress I've written a few plugins and themes for public consumption. Lately I'm busy engineering/building/coding and have only been able to share a few code snippets.

If you're in need of some web development, web design or custom WordPress plugins and/or themes contact me, I'll be happy to discuss it with you.

Looks like feedburner is broke. I'll just wait since it does work but keeps going up then down and back again.

I should probably know by now when your blogoversary is, but WP 2.1 (or later) will probably be out by then, which I'd recommend going with if you're looking for new features. They nearly doubled the hooks for plugin authors in that release (still in beta right now), which greatly expands the kinds of stuff you can do to extend it to suit your own needs without changing the core code.

Good to know in order to pwn your site and extend our game.

abc: I've never had an upgrade issue with WP and I've done about 15 upgrades this time around and about 100 installs and updates combined. But even with a flawless record I back up so it would never take me a year to recover.
  • That's okay, Y! still has us all at 2.02 with no plans of upgrading. I never had a successful update before that and am not about to lose more than another year just for a software update - no matter how many bugs it fixed.

It always amazes me to hear all the bugs that get fixed with new releases that you never hear of before those releases are out, certainly not WP exclusive, just hilarious IMO.

Did you install a patch or fix for that feed issue?
