OMG! FriendFeed with this IM bot is the best thing since Twitter months back when it actually worked. It’s surprising to me that there’s not a lot of talk about this IM bot, actually I’m guessing it’s because noone wants to see it crash and burn like twitter’s IM has been of late. Now I’m off to figure out how to get some track functionality and then preach about this. (via FriendFeed)

So, maybe we can’t get full track capability but with the ability to join rooms is on the same plane at least, if everyone used rooms for whatever they’re talking about- which will never happen. Wonder track functionality could be built in if the bot was an official piece of friendfeed. – via FriendFeed
No comparison. This isn’t just because I dislike FF either… FF+IM != Twitter+Track. The Twitter option is a human powered solution for real-time (plus non-real time) search and discovery. Nothing else offers that right now. In fact, Twitter doesn’t really offer it right now either (except in a more limited capacity via Summize) – Jared Bangs
I never said TwitterIM+Track=FF+Bot+rooms, I only said they *could* be similar on conditions that will never happen. But with TwitterIM down, this is great, especially because I can comment on real threads through IM. I just wish when I comment it would post to Twitter as an @reply, similar to how it works through the web interface. – Dan Cameron
Yeah, and although I think Twitter+Track is incredibly useful / interesting, it can be too useful, and end up being a time drain. – Jared Bangs
