I just bought three new computers for the Library (where I work) and I ordered refurbed eMachines, I’ve bought similar refurbs before through TigerDirect with no problems, these were way faster and had such a great price. It turned out that 2 out of the 3 didn’t work properly and one the face place was jacked. The probelms: One machine didn’t turn on and the other the DVD drive didn’t work.
Being the first two I tried I was getting a little peeved. It turned out that the power connectors and such were not connected to the motherboard on the first and the second the DVD drive wasn’t plugged into the PS. I would be so pissed if I wasn’t someone that could open a computer up and figure it out.
What do they expect people to do? Ship these things back? What a hassle that would be.
Anyways the computers are a great deal if you aren’t to into video editing or gaming. But you could always upgrade the ram and buy a card. Good luck with getting a good one though, 1 out of 3 is a horrible ratio.
