CSS Switcher

Is anyone using my ajax style switcher on this site? Is it just not noticeable enough?

  • Ah, got it.

My joke was going off yours, stating you're a handicapped person without javascript but it didn't work since I wouldn't be really offending people or an orginization if I did.
  • Well, it was just a joke after all, but I would strongly that "this" linking is as bad an accessibility issue as javascript only links.

"This" links may not be as descriptive as they could be (although that can be addressed with alt text), but they're still clearly understood (and functional) in the context of the content, whereas javascript-only links just don't work.

a "this" linker like jared shouldn't throw stones on accessibility issues. of course dan's also a this linker.
  • Or are you saying you didn't get what I was saying? Just in case, I was just making a joke that having accessibility issues is basically like electronically slapping people with handicaps in the face when they try to use your site, and javascript-only links are non-accessible. :)
  • I was just joking; I wasn't sure what you were trying to say / didn't get the joke with the #5 comment above.
  • Dan
Which one? I still don't get what you're saying here. I'm not trying to be condescending but I just don't understand.
  • I'm sure you're offending someone with that last comment, I'm just not sure who.
  • Dan
Yeah, I should take a picture of you working on the computer and...oh wait that would never work out the same.
  • That's what I figured. Don't feel too guilty about those disabled people you're dissing, it's not like you're calling them "retarded" or anything.
  • Dan
For the heck of it I probably wont fix it either. :)
  • I just tried it for the heck of it and I realized that it takes you to an error page if javascript is disabled.
  • It probably needs a label explaining what it is at least. Only people who are really curious are just going to go around clicking on random images to see what they do.

I click it occasionally whenever you post about changing it, but that's about it. I mostly read using RSS anyway, though, so I only ever load the actual site when I want to comment.
