I wanted to download my server backups every morning to my Mac and since I had already set up the cron jobs, there is a tutorial on backing up plesk here, all I needed to do was download those tarballs. I knew Automater would be able to do it because I noticed Transmit already had some workflows that you could download. So the second steo was to set up an automater workflow, something I will not tell you how to do because it was so easy I really don’t want to spend more time telling you how to do it then you actually figuring it out yourself. Here it goes:
After you create the workflow save it as an application.
Then open up iCal and set up an event, make it run daily or how ever you want.
Within that event create an alarm that will open a file.
After you do this, you will get an option of when you want it to run it.
Set it and that’s it

You will not need to have iCal open for the alarm to run the script. I am not sure why I am posting this because after all it was very easy to do. But I guess if you didn’t know automater doesn’t do scheduled tasks like it should or you didn’t know that iCal alarms can run programs then I guess you would find this helpful.
