  2. Wii vs. 360

Nintendo WiiI just can’t figure out what to do. Either return the 360 and get the Wii (if I can) or just keep the 360. I just made a spreadsheet for cost comparison, I guess I need to do a matrix for pros and cons now.

My hope is the Wii will make us want to play games again, I’d think Sara would love it. There’s a web browser so we could watch youtube on TV and it’s a little cheaper then my current 360 setup.

The 360 does DVDs, plays the classics, and will have an HD DVD add-on which will end up costing more. The 360 is hard to explain, it’s a full powered tech gadget that does tons more then just play games. But I find myself not using all those bells, especially since WCME doesn’t support XVID and DivX streaming. Then the games come into the picture. The games that are coming out look amazing; Gears of War, Lost Planet, Tony Hawk and Halo 3. The graphics on the 360 kill the Wii so much I’m worried to play those standard def games after playing what I am now like Dead Rising and Tony Hawk’s P8 demo.

But the Wii has something more important then graphics, FUN. And fun for all; all the games look exciting, the graphics look crappy but like the DS it’s not noticeable when the game has playability.

So it’s either a tech gadget that does DVDs, HD DVDs, Media Center and a little more vs. a really fun game console. I’m leaning toward the Wii and the iTV from Apple. That way I’ll get my HD downloads streamed the right way and I’ll have all the fun I could have with every classic Nintendo game available for download.

Now I just have to get a Wii (just in case I decide to ditch the 360, :). I do have a couple plans: Toys ‘r us and the mystery spot on launch day.

  4. Latest Bill Maher

What a kick-ass show. Probably the best one I’ve seen and one of the best political shows I’ve ever seen on TV. I’d recommend you catch the other parts, on of course you-tube or BT.

  5. Kuo on Maher

You’ll notice I wrote this for the BridgeBlogs,
Tempting Faith: An Inside Story of Political Seduction

The reason for this post and my purchase of the book.

The reason for this post on the BB rather then my blog, the political Christian struggle is something that I’ve dealt with for a long time and a logical faith filled discussion here, with the community rather then the knit few, would help me and hopefully help others.

Why is it that I can’t post this on the BB? Is it because it will start flame wars or am I worried about someone asking me to take it down essentially censoring our community voice or should I have just posted it and not worried.

  7. Avery Update!!

Our almost 18 month old daughter, Avery, is officially a big girl, she peed in her potty. And like Nathan’s realization of fatherdom, I didn’t even notice until right now when I looked in her toilet. I had thought she needed to go, she did the leg clamp, and since she was naked I told her to go to her potty but she seemed distracted by the cat. I did notice her sit on it when I went downstairs to refill the diapers but I thought it was just like all those other times. I came back and I never even checked her potty. At the time she was just sitting up, heading my way and waving by to the cat. I took that as a sign of nothing new. I feel so bad, I hope I didn’t ruin it and she keeps it up.

I don’t know if this is “early” but it seems like it. I guess our secret is having her sit on her potty while we sit close on our thrown.
