1. Happy New Years

I will post on it later but it took me a day or so. Right when K2 B2 came out I started working on it and I think I have my best theme yet.

I think it really encompasses what everyone wants including myself. It has asides but doesn’t hide them. It has limited posts on the homepage without hiding the previous entries. Same amount of info but not cluttered.

When I say cluttered, I mean that everything is distinct I still need to toy around with the the css of some places, specifically the asides portion because it seems…I don’t know.
There isn’t any new functionality, there’s actually less. No AJAX anything as of yet. I don’t know if it’s K2s fault or what but I don’t really care right now anyways, it doesn’t help anything except make it look cool. I’m still having issues with the archives, maybe that’s a host issue, probably not but I can’t think of anything else.

I do want to see a style switcher for K2 soon, it would be nice to give the option to reverse the color scheme for those people who don’t like the dark colors.

Anyways, I hope you like and if you find some bugs tell me.

Oh and I might release that last theme so don’t ask.

To counter Jared’s comment about digg I’d have to say this
article makes up for most of the crappy digg’s. … Read More »

  3. Audiobooks

Over the holidays I started an audible account and listened to all but 30 minutes of Narnia: L’W'W’.

I’m liking the whole audiobooks thing. Although I don’t think I’ll keep the audible account since I just downloaded the whole Narnia series on BT for free. My other book was an impulse buy, the new google book. … Read More »

  4. Google Reader API

Never even thought about this being an option. Imagine an online application and a standalone app that sync’d with the google API so everything ran fast, smooth and up to date. Wow.

Jared: You should build your personal online feed reader with the google API as your backend.

I wonder what the terms of use are. If it’s possible to create an online app that you could sell to people to install on their own server. I’d ask Jared to help but you know he all about the “community”.

  5. Microsoft

Why is it that microsoft thinks their software is for the average person? It really isn’t.

Office is a piece of shit. Try to explain to someone how to print labels from their address book, yeah that’s what I thought.

Another reason why OS X is so much better. At least they have easy options with great included software. … Read More »

  6. Wordpress 2.0

I hate how it does it’s rewrites now. There’s no way, that I know of, to edit them since “wordpress” takes care of them. The tag rewrites are all screwey and the blog url won’t rewrite for some reason and I’ve tried everything.

Why do they always have to mess up a good thing. … Read More »

  7. Wordpress 2.0

As always I’m an early adopter. WordPress 2.0 is out today and I upgraded. As expected nothing went as well as anticipated.

The upgrade was almost perfect with a few errors. I don’t have a clue why. I had some real issues with some of my plugins especially flickrRSS, which all, after an upgrade to their newest releases everything works … Read More »

  10. The 50 Greatest Gadgets of the Past 50 Years

The 50 Greatest Gadgets of the Past 50 Years

    I’ve have or had:
    #2 (v3 though)
    #3
    #7
    #11 (day 1)
    #16 (I think)
    #26
    #27
    #38

I would have thought that I had more of these gadgets but there are some really old ones in that list and some I have the newer versions, like the Treo, that I didn’t count. … Read More »
