1. TiVo

If you do not have a Tivo or subsequent box then you are a loser; Jared. I still need to do a review on Moxi and it’s comparison to Tivo but I am lazy. The simple fact is if you watch basic cable get a Tivo; if you watch digital cable or have HD then you must get a Moxi. Moxi is Adelphia’s Tivo wannabe. Check out the TiVo.com Web Specials, $50 for a Tivo.

  2. Netflix

Just to let everyone know Catwman was the worst movie ever made. Not only was the acting bad, the plot was worse. I don’t really get how it could have been made that bad, it was a comic book. How could they not get a good story of the writers? Or was it the directors and the producers fault? Anyways, we saw that last week and this week we saw Mr. 3000, now that was a great movie. Two thumbs up for 3000 and two paws down for Crapwoman.

Anyone read that text message from Lindsay Lohan to Paris Hilton about Jessica Simpson doing coke? Now Simpson and Bush have something in common.

  3. I am so going to get this game; again.

    I too:

learned everything I need to know about games from Another World

Our protagonist climbs out of the water

    Green lamps, hmmm

And that’s just one example, here’s another absolutely brilliant example: You come to a screen with 3 green lamps. In each of the lamps there’s a reflection of a guard, doing his rounds on the ’screen below’. It’s a 15-year old game, and there’s an animated reflection! Now it’s up to you to figure out what to do with that…

    Our protagonist is caged

Do you remember this? Remember how you’re given a clue as to what you’re doing is right, as one of the alien guards shoots into the air for you to stop, and another guard comes flying into frame in the background? It’s so cool! I love the motion blue effect!

    Playing Another World

If you want to give it a try, go download Another World at Abandonia and grab yourself a copy of DOSBox for whatever platform you’re on. Read the instructions and share your experience with us.

  4. CrazySox

I upgraded BridgeBlogs and Sara’s site yesterday to WP 1.5 and in the transition I changed Sara’s design. When she first saw it she was pissed, “it’s so plain, …, I want some flowers or somthing; anything”. Well I did go ahead and change it but I thought it looked good before. Oh well, you know what they say, “anything for your pregnant wife”, or do they say” you better do everything and anything for your wife”, either/or doesn’t make a difference she always gets her way; that’s it, “her way or the highway”.

  5. How could they do this to me?

As of March 15th internet access from my work will require us to use Internet Explorer. NO!! Details are really unclear but all I know is we will have to use a network username and password to login before we can access the internet. It’s really confusing because we already login to the network when you start the computer, and do they just block port 80 and make us go through a proxy (Is that the correct terminology). I guess this is a way for them to track our little asses. Other then work productivity losses through web design and such, I am pissed because I hate IE. I really do, I only use it to log into my exchange server. Browsing the web is just so difficult in IE for me. Hopefully when they go live with this I will find a
work around, or maybe it will just work.

  6. Scamming the Scammer

    Scamming the Scammer

It is a very long PDF but any eBay seller will get a laugh.

  7. Twinsees

I guess this guy really likes my site.
    Hekimian.Net

I don’t know how I should feel about this; especially since the design wasn’t entirely mine to begin with. But it does feel good when people appreciate your hard work enough to take it, I certainly have in the past, and most likely still will.
I just hope he gives me some kind of props.

  8. Serve it up.

I asked Jared these questions earlier tonight in an email but I thought maybe some other smart web guy can contribute.

  9. Blogiversary

Yesterday was my Blogiversary and I didn’t even notice. Untill I wrote this.

  10. WordPress 1.5

I was going to do a review of 1.5 until I saw this, WordPress › Development Blog › Announcing WordPress 1.5. Oh well I still can do a user review.

    Some good notes:

First we’ve made everything much more secure by default using a new option we call “emergent registration” or “automatic whitelisting.” What it does is the first time someone comments they are automatically held in moderation unless you’ve approved something from them before.

really easy to deal with hundreds or thousands of comments, trackbacks, and pingbacks at once, but we also added a blacklist option.

We revamped the registration and login system to make this as seamless and easy as possible. When someone is logged in we also tweak the comment form just for them.

WordPress is actually smaller than 1.2, despite adding dozens of new features.

I have been using K’s Spamminator for awhile now and I have had 99.9999% success rate, and loved the new integration for 1.5, but recently I noticed that some comments were getting by. They were deleted from the WP site but still stored in the SQL database, sort of weird, those tricky spammers. So today I have started using the built in comment moderation and w/b listing that WP 1.5 has built in. Wish me luck.
By the way, Jared, changing the post page only works for a couple days for me, hidden form fields and query strings are way over my head. I know it would take 20 minutes but I still rather not. And I don’t see any spammers getting through how 1.5 has it set-up and I have already seen them get around 1/3 of yours. No offense, I am just feed up with spammers. And if I have too I can implement K’s with 1.5 and your suggestions; now that would be the ultimate.
